What We Do

Strategic Technology Consulting and Planning

There’s a LOT of technology out there!  What’s right for your organization?

That question would be hard enough to answer if you were starting with a blank slate.  But most organizations have also accumulated years of technology already.  What should I keep?  What do I need to replace?  What can I outsource and what do I need to manage in house?  Is it safe to put all my data “in a cloud somewhere?”  How do I use new technologies to innovate or create competitive advantages, or stay relevant in the future?  What is Artificial Intelligence anyway?  Is that something I should care about?

Brightstreet has no software vendor/platform partnerships or formal affiliations.  We aren’t motivated to “push” any solutions based on revenue or commissions or quotas.  We may not have all the answers, but we’ll recommend technology that’s right for you, not us.

Project/Program Management

Managing technology projects is hard work.

We’re not perfect (wait, who says that on their own website??) but we manage complex projects all the time. It’s a reflection of who we are, so we take it very seriously.  We manage our projects using the latest methods and openly communicate and collaborate with you on exactly where things are at. We can also help you manage your projects.

Cloud-based Architecture

The cloud remains a mystery to many. And rightly so – it’s really hard to explain, or trust.

Amazon, Google and Microsoft, among others, have fundamentally changed the way we acquire the infrastructure needed to run our businesses. With a little help, you can take advantage of that and get out of the business of managing zero-value added IT servers and software. Oh yeah, and do things faster too!

Healthcare and Social Services Interoperability

It seems everyone wants to find a way to blend traditional healthcare models, health insurance, and social services together in a way that benefits an individual or the community they live in.

As they should. It’s a worthwhile goal. Well, it turns out to be a LOT harder than most well-intentioned efforts anticipate. There are emerging standards and protocols for classifying services, defining needs and exchanging data. There are different governance structures and rules for how data can be shared. There are inconsistent reimbursement models for sustaining organizations providing social services  There are unclear eligibility rules. Notice how we really haven’t even gotten to the technical part yet??

And yes, we know all the buzzwords and acronyms…  SDOH, FHIR, HL7, Open Referral, CIE, EMRs, Gravity, etc.   That’s just the ante to the poker game.

We’re learning as we go as well,  but we have a lot of experience navigating all this complexity and implementing software agnostic “hubs” that enable true interoperability.  So you can all keep using the platforms you already have.  Best part, we’re actually doing this.  In the real world.  Let us show you.

User Experience/Business Process Envisioning, Design and Implementation

With few exceptions, any technology you employ in your business is going to affect the quality of someone’s life.

It could be an employee, a partner or supplier, a customer, or a community member.  Whether that effect is positive or negative depends to a great degree on what’s waiting at the crossroads of software and people using it.   It can be an easy-to-understand user interface that is well-designed, accessible, and simple to navigate, or it can be a three car pile-up.  We don’t recommend leaving that to chance…
